HISTORY
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the financial stability of Holy Name University Medical Center, Inc. (HNUMCI) in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines, relied on faith in God. Fr. Peru Dayag, SVD, the CEO of HNUMCI, was moved by compassion for patients who couldn't fully pay their hospital bills. He thought about how to keep the hospital running, support poor patients, and replace outdated equipment. The pandemic also left many people in the area hungry, leading to efforts to feed children from struggling families. This situation led to the creation of the Divine Word Foundation, Incorporated.
